La Maison du Village Saint Rémy de Provence Book
La Maison du Village, 10 Rue du Huit Mai 1945, 13210 Saint Rémy de Provence

Indulge your senses, the best way to discover the beauty of Provence.

The story behind La Maison du Village is one of serendipity. Vicki fell in love with this delightful 18th century town house when she first came to Provence in early 2000.

She had always admired the hotel and recommended it many times to friends as the place to stay when visiting Saint Rémy de Provence. In 2009 she featured La Maison du Village in French Essence, never thinking one day the hotel would become such an important part of her life.

David and Vicki acquired the hotel in 2017. They have since refurbished the Suites and set about making La Maison du Village as welcoming and as comfortable as a home away from home can be, while at the same time, retaining its original characteristics and traditional Provencal nature.

Vicki regards La Maison du Village as her home and has styled the house with many of her personal objects, books and paintings. Her team share her vision for La Maison and will work together to create memorable stays for their guests.

The Hotel

La Maison du Village is a restored village home in the centre of Saint Rémy de Provence. It is halfway down on the left hand side of a charming street, with the unlikely name of rue du 8 Mai 1945. The entrance from the street opens into a long rectangular salon. A stone chimney breast, at the end of this room, leads the eye past a curving staircase to the private domain of La Maison du Village. This converted 18th Century village house is about as non-hotel as it can be. The mood is relaxed and informal – last person to bed please lock the door and turn of the lights kind of informality.

The sitting room and dining room, with a mix of soft furnishings in various hues of grey and cream, open on to a secret courtyard garden, an unusual feature in the centre of Saint Rémy de Provence. The paintings, mirrors and lighting, are part of Vicki Archer’s private collection.
